Alltel Prepaid Phone Card And Pay-As-You-Go Phones

I searched and looked through Alltel’s website to find out if I could buy an Alltel prepaid phone card. There were lots of wireless plans (Pay-Per-Day, Pay-Per-Minute, Pay-Per-Month) but I could not find any information about where to get a prepaid phone card.

The prepaid Alltel cellular phone plan might be a great option for those users who have credit problems and don’t want to risk a credit check. It is also a great option for those who don’t like signing contracts or receiving monthly bills. For quite a few people, the “pay as you go” option is appealing.

Here is information from the Alltel FAQ:

Is there a certain phone I have to have for prepaid wireless service?
All of Alltel’s consumer phones are available to prepaid customers.

If I have to buy another phone can I still keep my phone number and account balance?
Absolutely. A sales representative at any Alltel retail store can assist you in purchasing another phone and will set it up on your existing account.

How much does Pay-Per-Minute cost?
15 cents a minute - any time - all of the time.

For the prepaid Alltel cellular phone plan, you would receive the same type of calling area as the “National Freedom” plan as well as the no cost long distance service and no roaming charges. With this plan, you would also get call waiting and caller ID, but the Voice Mail option would be extra. In addition, the cost per minute is slightly higher with the prepaid Alltel cellular phone plan. However, some people might consider this a fair trade-off for not having to sign a contract.
